SUMMARY:The Ohio Feminist Art Museum February Book Club - Not My Type by E. Jean Carroll
DESCRIPTION:Quick Event Details:\n\nFebruary 5\, 2025 from 6 – 7:30 p.m.\nColumbus Metropolitan Library Main Branch\nMeeting Room 1B\nLight snacks provided\, pot luck contributions welcome\n\nPlease join us at the Columbus Metropolitan Library Main Branch in Meeting Room 1B at 6:00 p.m. on February 5\, 2026 to discuss this quarter’s book: Not My Type\, One Woman vs. a President by E. Jean Carroll. \n\n\n\nFrom the publisher’s website:\n\n\nYou’ve heard about the tantrums\, the seething\, the storming out of court\, yes. But what about E. Jean’s side of the story? What about the flight suits\, the bottle of green Chartreuse\, and the bob? \nNot My Type puts you in a better seat than the jury box. \nYou will hear Alina Habba\, Esq.\, “Trump’s most beautiful attorney\,” asking E. Jean to “list” the people she has “slept with”—a list which turns out to be so marvelous\, it is worth twice the price of this book. You will experience the fear and loathing of E. Jean’s “psychiatric evaluations\,” and hear how she tries to cheer up Trump’s gloomy\, $750-an-hour shrink by telling him about the strange white tablet Hunter S. Thompson gave her. \nYou will be in on the choosing of the “clothes for court\,” and the creation of “the look”: a look that will help the jury connect the younger E. Jean who is attacked by Trump in Bergdorf’s with the older E. Jean who sits in the courtroom. \nIt’s all here: two dazzling trials\, the full-tilt high stakes\, the laugh-out-loud commentary\, and the inspiring fact that a woman is never too old to get even. \nE. Jean Carroll is a journalist and the author of five books\, including a biography of Hunter S. Thompson. She has written for Rolling Stone\, Outside\, Vanity Fair\, Esquire\, New York\, and The Atlantic. She was named one of Time‘s Most Influential People in the World in 2024. She throws the ball for her dogs at her cabin in the mountains in upstate New York. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin our Book Club Facebook Group for event updates and to RSVP or email info@ofamuseum.org to confirm your attendance!

SUMMARY:Open House & Donor Tree Fundraiser

She worked her way through four college degrees\, earning her Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University\, as a foster & adoptive parent\, while building a business\, and navigating life as an openly lesbian woman in Ohio. \nOver the past 30 years\, she has collected art created by women. These are pieces purchased at women’s festivals\, feminist gatherings\, and grassroots art spaces across the country. This collection is not just art. It represents our history\, culture\, community and spiritual essence. \nOFAM was born from a simple but urgent desire: to preserve the art and spirit of feminist movements across generations\, and to create a space where women of all backgrounds\, including lesbian\, straight\, trans\, suburban\, rural\, artists and non-artists alike\, can gather safely and build community. \nThis museum is personal. And it is collective. \n\nJoin Us\nOpen House & Fundraiser March 28\, 2026 1-4pm \n635 Park Meadow Rd\, Suite 107\, Westerville\, Ohio 43081 \nCome tour the space. \nMeet the founders. \nSee the beginnings of the collection. \nBecome a donor and have your name added to the Donor Tree. \nFrom 1pm to 4pm\, experience it all: \n\nListen to music performed by KELO\nMeet queer fiction author Sara Elliot and hear about her new book\, The Shape of Grace\nArtwork on display by Hazel Varanese\, Lisa Morris\, Sheryl Lazenby\, and Tamala Murk\nMeet Janann Campbell (JC) – the first woman sworn in to serve in the Washington National Guard\nMK Wright will have part of her women’s art collection and memorabilia\n\nHelp us root feminist art and community in Ohio soil. \nRSVP: Facebook \n  \nAdd Your Name to Our Donor Tree\n  \nLegacy Sponsorship >\nOne-Time Donation >\nMuseum Membership >\n\nLocation Photos\n635 Park Meadow Rd\, Suite 107\, Westerville\, Ohio 43081

DESCRIPTION:From the Beacon Press publisher website: \n\n“Living in an altered past that never saw the end of the Great Depression\, Jeannine\, a librarian\, is waiting to be married. And Jael is a warrior with steel teeth and catlike retractable claws\, from an earth with separate- and warring-female and male societies. When these four women meet\, the results are startling\, outrageous\, and subversive.” \n\n\nPlease join us at OFAM’s new location at 6:00 p.m. on May 7\, 2026 to discuss this quarter’s book: “The Female Man” by Joanna Russ. \n\nQuick Details\n\nWhen: Thursday\, May 7\, 6:00 p.m.Where: Ohio Feminist Art Museum\, 635 Park Meadow Road\, Suite 107\, Westerville\, OH 43081What: “The Female Man” by Joanna Russ\, Snacks\, & Critical Discussion \n\n\nJoin our Book Club Facebook Group for event updates and to RSVP or email info@ofamuseum.org to confirm your attendance!
