SUMMARY:Open House & Donor Tree Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:The Ohio Feminist Art Museum Has a Home\nAfter years of dreaming\, gathering\, and building community\, the Ohio Feminist Art Museum has signed a 2-year lease on our first physical space in Westerville nestled at the edge of the Alum Creek River surround by woods. \nOn March 28\, 2026\, we open our doors for the very first time. \nThis space will house our growing collection of feminist art\, host exhibitions and events\, and serve as a gathering place for women and allies across Ohio who are looking for connection\, culture\, and community. \nBut before we can fully open\, we need your help. \n  \nBuilding the Foundation\nWe are transforming this space into a home for feminist art. Donations from our Open House Fundraiser will directly support: \n\nRenovation and improvements\nPreparing and staging the collection\nMaintenance of the space over the next two years\nAccessible programming and events\n\nInside our front lobby\, we are painting a Donor Tree — a permanent tribute to the women and supporters who helped lay the foundation of OFAM’s first home. \nEvery gift made during the Open House fundraiser will be honored: \n\nLeaves for foundational gifts\nBranches for sustaining supporters\nThe trunk for major donors (the roots that hold us steady)\n\nYour name will become part of the story of this museum. \n  \nThe Vision Behind OFAM\nThe Ohio Feminist Art Museum was founded by MK Wright\, a lifelong feminist\, social worker\, mother\, and community builder. \nMK came out at 18 while emancipating from the foster care system. She worked her way through four college degrees\, earning her Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University\, as a foster & adoptive parent\, while building a business\, and navigating life as an openly lesbian woman in Ohio. \nOver the past 30 years\, she has collected art created by women. These are pieces purchased at women’s festivals\, feminist gatherings\, and grassroots art spaces across the country. This collection is not just art. It represents our history\, culture\, community and spiritual essence. \nOFAM was born from a simple but urgent desire: to preserve the art and spirit of feminist movements across generations\, and to create a space where women of all backgrounds\, including lesbian\, straight\, trans\, suburban\, rural\, artists and non-artists alike\, can gather safely and build community. \nThis museum is personal. And it is collective. \n\nJoin Us\nOpen House & Fundraiser March 28\, 2026 1-4pm \n635 Park Meadow Rd\, Suite 107\, Westerville\, Ohio 43081 \nCome tour the space. \nMeet the founders. \nSee the beginnings of the collection. \nBecome a donor and have your name added to the Donor Tree. \nFrom 1pm to 4pm\, experience it all: \n\nListen to music performed by KELO\nMeet queer fiction author Sara Elliot and hear about her new book\, The Shape of Grace\nArtwork on display by Hazel Varanese\, Lisa Morris\, Sheryl Lazenby\, and Tamala Murk\nMeet Janann Campbell (JC) – the first woman sworn in to serve in the Washington National Guard\nMK Wright will have part of her women’s art collection and memorabilia\n\nHelp us root feminist art and community in Ohio soil. \nRSVP: Facebook \n  \nAdd Your Name to Our Donor Tree\n  \nLegacy Sponsorship >\nOne-Time Donation >\nMuseum Membership >\n\nLocation Photos\n635 Park Meadow Rd\, Suite 107\, Westerville\, Ohio 43081

SUMMARY:Her Chapter - Ohio Feminist Art Museum Book Club
DESCRIPTION:From the Beacon Press publisher website: \n\n“Living in an altered past that never saw the end of the Great Depression\, Jeannine\, a librarian\, is waiting to be married. Joanna lives in a different version of reality: she’s a 1970s feminist trying to succeed in a man’s world. Janet is from Whileaway\, a utopian earth where only women exist. And Jael is a warrior with steel teeth and catlike retractable claws\, from an earth with separate- and warring-female and male societies. When these four women meet\, the results are startling\, outrageous\, and subversive.” \n\n\nPlease join us at OFAM’s new location at 6:00 p.m. on May 7\, 2026 to discuss this quarter’s book: “The Female Man” by Joanna Russ. \n\nQuick Details\n\nWhen: Thursday\, May 7\, 6:00 p.m.Where: Ohio Feminist Art Museum\, 635 Park Meadow Road\, Suite 107\, Westerville\, OH 43081What: “The Female Man” by Joanna Russ\, Snacks\, & Critical Discussion \n\n\nJoin our Book Club Facebook Group for event updates and to RSVP or email info@ofamuseum.org to confirm your attendance!

SUMMARY:PRIDE Artist Event!
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday June 13th from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m.\, the Ohio Feminist Art Museum will be open!!! We have recently remodeled our museum and are excited about our progress in fulfilling our Mission.\n\n\n\nWe will be hosting our Ohio Pride Artist Event of 2026. We will present five amazing Feminist Artists who will be sharing their art with us\, along with selling their art. We will also be hosting the African American Drum Circle\, along with a bonfire from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.\n\n\nWe are also excited to announce Anastasia Sotnikova\, our new Program Coordinator\, will be present at this event.  She is a doctoral student in Art Administration\, Education\, and Policy at The Ohio State University\, where she focused on Museum Education. With a background in marketing communications\, she brings both strategic thinking and creativity to her work at the intersection of art\, education\, and community engagement. She is especially interested in how art can bring people together—her research explores ways to foster dialogue among artists\, institutions\, and diverse communities while creating more inclusive and meaningful experiences. Drawing on queer\, feminist\, and participatory approaches\, she works to expand access to the arts and deepen how audiences connect with them.\n\n\nJOIN US in our small part in trying to make a difference in this world.\n\nArtists include:\nLisa Morris\, Debb Cusick\, Kenia LaMarr\, Eve Silina\, K. Rossi.

SUMMARY:Summer Book Club - Her Chapter
DESCRIPTION:From The Standard:\nThey wanted the body of a child and the cynicism of a woman \n\n“Then her father took over her life. In her telling\, he treated her for his alcoholism. It reads like a Tennessee Williams play. Her family are control freaks: she wouldn’t let her mother hold her son for the first two months of his life. But what her father did was more calculating and avaricious. He had her put under a conservatorship. He told her what to eat\, when to exercise\, and he wouldn’t let her drive. But she worked nonstop so her family could live in luxury. She complied so she could see her sons and had a long Las Vegas residency in which her father wouldn’t let her change her songs. This went on for 13 years.” \n\n\nPlease join us at OFAM’s new location from 6:00 – 7:30p.m. on August\, 2026 to discuss this quarter’s book: “The Woman in Me” by Britney Spears. \n\nQuick Details\n\nWhen: Thursday\, August 6\, 6:00 – 7:30p.m.Where: Ohio Feminist Art Museum\, 635 Park Meadow Road\, Suite 107\, Westerville\, OH 43081What: “The Woman in Me” by Britney Spears\, Snacks\, & Critical Discussion \n\n\nJoin our Book Club Facebook Group for event updates and to RSVP or email info@ofamuseum.org to confirm your attendance!
