Trans Figure Drawing, a live figure-drawing session featuring trans models provided by the Westerville Queer Collective (WQC) and the Ohio Feminist Art Museum (OFAM).
We will begin with short, gestural poses and gradually move onto longer ones. Beginner level instruction will be provided by a local queer artist for those who would like it. This event is 18+, and all skill levels welcome.
Figure drawing isn’t just a tradition for classical artists – it’s a rewarding way to connect with the human body. When going to a live figure drawing session, it’s not always disclosed what kind of model the artists will be working with. Given today’s political landscape, OFAM and WQC are creating space for artists to work with the trans body. This event is good for anyone who wishes to hone their skills, diversify their subject matter, or simply enjoy introspective, meditative sketching.
We will cover model etiquette and there will be scheduled breaks throughout.
Bring your own materials: easel and drawing pad, sketchbook and color pencils, watercolor set up, anything that doesn’t require excessive ventilation or other special accommodations. BYOB if you’re 21+ as well!

About the Instructor: K. Rossi
“Ross-ee”, he/they, b. 1994 in Long Island, NY.
I’m Rossi, a self-taught artist based in central Ohio working with oil paint and digital media. My work centers on the human figure, focusing on the body and exploring themes of gender, solitude, personhood, and the human experience.
I paint a wide array of genders and body types, and many are androgynous to a degree. Part of my mission is to promote body positivity and gender diversity in the art world and other contexts.
I’d always been an artsy kid growing up, and began studying drawing fundamentals trying to learn how to make comics. I ended up falling in love with figure drawing, and that’s most of what I’ve been doing since.
Common to all my work now is painting my subject with bold textures and colors. The result is extraordinary, but still very human, contemplative and introspective.
When not hunched over my drawing tablet, you can find me on the Columbus Coffee Trail, volunteering at pride events, or reading on the porch with my wife and cat.
